From the Czech Republic to the World: FEELn Introduces a New Voice, a New Storyteller and an Artist to Watch - Nate Bognor
A new FEELn series begins with an artist whose music is as much about the words as it is about the sound.
For the first episode of FEELn Debut, Stevie Eagle E travels virtually from Brazil to the Czech Republic to meet Nate Bognor, a young singer, songwriter and lyricist whose developing body of work combines music, storytelling, metaphor and personal values.
FEELn Debut EP1 – Introducing Nate Bognor is the first instalment of a new FEELn series created to do something simple but important: introduce audiences to exciting talent from around the world that they may not have discovered yet.
As Stevie explains at the beginning of the programme, the word debut does not necessarily mean that the artist is performing for the first time. Many of the artists featured will already have been developing their craft and performing for some time. The FEELn debut is their introduction to a new global audience.
And with Nate Bognor, there is plenty to discover.

Meet Nate Bognor
Nate's musical journey began surprisingly early.
During her conversation with Stevie, she explains that she started writing songs at approximately 11 years old, initially working with lyrics and simple piano chords while experimenting with different musical directions.
“I actually started songwriting very early on, like at the age of 11.”
She describes those early years as a period of discovering what kind of artist she wanted to become, eventually developing into the style of music she is creating today.
But listening to Nate talk about her work, it becomes clear that she does not simply regard herself as a singer.
She is a lyricist first.
Words are central to what she creates.
Nate also writes lyrics for other people and has received messages from artists interested in collaborating with her as a songwriter. She even offers people the opportunity to send her their lyrics so that she can provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
That willingness to help other emerging writers is another side of an artist who is still developing her own career.
Four Songs Already Released – And More on the Way
Nate is not simply talking about becoming an artist.
She already has music available.
During the interview she reveals that four of her songs have already been released on streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal.
Among the songs she discusses are Steakhouse, Coffee and Tattoo, with more music expected to follow. She identifies Steakhouse as one of her personal favourites.
And it is when Stevie begins asking about the stories behind those songs that the conversation becomes particularly interesting.
Because Nate's song titles are not always what they initially appear to be.
The Contradiction Behind "Steakhouse"
One of Nate's favourite songs is Steakhouse.
At first glance, the title might suggest a straightforward song about food or a restaurant.
It isn't.
Nate explains that the title represents one of the biggest contradictions within her songwriting—and that contradiction is intentional.
She is vegetarian.
The song therefore becomes an example of the way Nate uses ideas and unexpected subjects to create something deeper than the obvious meaning of the title.
During the programme, Nate performs the song for Stevie, giving viewers the opportunity to experience her songwriting and performance style directly.
"Coffee" Isn't Really About Coffee
Another example of Nate's approach to songwriting is Coffee.
Nate doesn't actually drink coffee.
Instead, she uses coffee as a metaphor for addiction and emotional dependency.
The song explores the idea of becoming so emotionally attached to another person that the feeling begins to resemble an addiction rather than what we traditionally understand as love.
That idea becomes even more powerful when Nate explains that several of her song titles deliberately refer to things she personally does not do.
She doesn't drink coffee.
She doesn't have tattoos.
And she says she will never gamble, despite having another song titled Roulette.
The contradiction between the subject and her own life is part of the creative process.
Lyrics That Are Designed to Make You Think
One of the strongest themes running through the interview is the importance of meaning.
Stevie describes Nate as somebody who doesn't simply want to tell stories. Her writing can also contain lessons, observations and ideas that encourage the listener to think.
The conversation explores how music can have multiple layers.
A song may mean one thing when you hear it for the first time, something different when you hear it again, and perhaps something completely different years later as your own experiences change.
That is particularly relevant to Nate's approach to lyrics.
Rather than explaining everything immediately, her songs can leave space for the listener to interpret them and discover their own relationship with the material.
In an age when songs are often consumed in seconds, there is something refreshing about an artist who wants listeners to stop, listen and think.
From Her Home Studio to the FEELn Audience
One of the most natural moments in the episode occurs when Stevie asks Nate to perform.
There is no elaborate concert stage.
There is no huge production.
Nate is sitting in her humble home studio, with her guitar nearby.
When asked what she normally plays when someone asks her to perform, she chooses Riptide—the first song she ever learned on guitar.
It is a small but significant moment.
The FEELn audience isn't simply being presented with a finished product. We are being introduced to an artist while she is still on her journey.
That is precisely the philosophy behind FEELn Debut.
Czech Republic to Brazil – And Then to the World
Nate's story also demonstrates something fundamental about music and creativity.
She is developing her career in the Czech Republic, but her musical influences and interests reach far beyond her own country.
During the conversation, Nate discusses artists including Jim Morrison and The Doors, while also talking about the influence of Amy Winehouse on the kind of vocal style she would like to develop.
She describes her own voice as lighter than Winehouse's, while identifying with the smoky vocal quality associated with the band Kovacs.
The discussion also moves into reggae and Bob Marley, with Nate explaining how discovering more about Marley and his culture opened another area of musical and cultural interest for her.
It is an international musical journey being developed from the Czech Republic.
And, as Stevie points out, that is the beauty of music.
An artist can discover something from another part of the world, absorb it, interpret it and turn it into something uniquely their own.
An Artist at the Beginning of Her Journey
Perhaps the most important thing about this first FEELn Debut episode is that Nate is still developing.
There is no claim that she has already reached the end of her journey.
Quite the opposite.
This is an opportunity to meet her at an early stage and watch where her creativity takes her.
Stevie talks about the importance of seeing artists develop over time and expresses his hope that Nate will return to FEELn again—and potentially perform for the FEELn on the 5th global audience at a future live event.
That possibility makes the debut episode particularly exciting.
You are not simply watching an interview. You are being introduced to an artist whose story is still being written.
