Wild Wild Women

Female Indian Rap collective

Wild Wild Women is India’s first all-female hip-hop collective of rappers, singers, breakdancers, and artists. The crew comprises vocalists Pratika, Krantinaari, HashtagPreeti, JQueen and MC Mahila, along with singers Damini and Brecilla, and beatboxer Manasi Nene.

The multilingual group have been smashing stereotypes, patriarchy and misogyny, along with celebrating their victorious breakthroughs as strong women ever since they met in December 2020. Combining different elements and styles of hip hop, Wild Wild Women is taking on a journey that is blossoming with Indian culture, but expressing it in a more global music medium to spread a message. In the effort to grow a powerful community of fearless women, they’ve always loved and valued creating special ensemble sets and working with more women.

The collective has been featured by some of the world’s biggest publications like The Guardian, EuroNews, The National, and Rolling Stone (India), along with big local news houses like the Times of India, YouStory, Civil Society, and has been included in playlists by Apple Music, Spotify, JioSaavn, and YouTube Music. They’ve performed at some of the country’s biggest music festivals including Bacardí NH7 Weekender, and Covelong Classic, in addition to multiple club gigs and cyphers.

As an independent and extremely driven force in Indian hip hop, they’ve been one of the fastest-rising collectives nurturing the community aspect of the local hip hop scene, and helping grow and build that community through their own Rebel Women cyphers - where they invite artists from all elements of hip hop for an open jam and cypher - along with different collaborative performances with female artists, sanitary napkin distribution and hygiene awareness drives, and much more.
